There are two ways to create Virtual machines.
- Create from Template (refer 1)
- Create from .ISO media (refer 2)
For whom does not have template. (New environment 2020/07.)
- Create from Content Libraries (refer 3)

1. Create from Template.
GIO-US Provides following Templates by default.
- Windows 2012R2 standard (64bit)
1. Click Home and select VMs and Templates.
2. Click Create a Virtual Machine
3. Click Deploy from template.
4. Select Template (i.e. Windows 2012R2) from the List.
5. Enter the Virtual Machine name (any name).
6. Select Storage for this Virtual machines.
Caution: DO NOT SELECT local datastore! you don't have enough data protection with it. Make sure you select Proper datastore. If you have a question about selecting a datastore, please contact IIJ America support for assistance.
7. Confirm selection and click Finish.
8. Wait until complete (complete within 5 min).
9. Confirm your new Virtual machine (Following image)
10. Start your Virtual Machine and proceed post configuration.
post configuration usually consists of following.
- Network Settings
- IP Address configuration

2. Create from .ISO media
1. First Upload ISO files
2. Click Create a new Virtual Machine
3. Select Create a new Virtual Machine.
4. Enter Name for New Virtual Machine (e.x. hostname, system name, etc.)
5. Select Host Server to deploy new VM and click Next.
6. Select a Storage for new VM.
Caution: DO NOT SELECT local datastore! you don't have enough data protection with it. Make sure you select Proper datastore. If you have a question about selecting a datastore, please contact IIJ America support for assistance.
7. Select VM version (proceed with default value) and click Next.
8. Select OS type (Windows, Linux, etc) and click Next.
9. Change and Confirm hardware spec and click Next.
10. Click Finish.
11. Find a New Virtual Machine and click Edit Setting.
12. Find CD/DVD drive and select Datastore ISO file from pull-down menu.
13. Find ISO file from storage (remember the location when uploading) and select it.
14. Check to enable "Connect". Your Virtual Machine will try to connect CD/DVD drive when initial VM boot up phase.
15. Power on Virtual Machine and open Web console.
You will see initial installation wizard just like this. Proceed OS installation accordingly.

3. Create fromContent Libraries
1. Login to vSphere, Menu -> Content Libraries
2. Go to "GIO Library - Linux", (Windows OS Subscriber able to see "GIO Library - Windows")
3. Go to Template
4. From the Action Menu, "New VM from This Template"
5. Name your virtual machine, choose "DC" for the destination
6. Choose Resource pool(i.e. ulw123456 or unw123456), circular icon below hosts.
7. Confirm the settings, click next.
8. Choose "CL" for the storage.
9. Choose virtual machine network.
10. Click Finish to create a virtual machine.
11. From the Menu, go to "Hosts and Clusters"
12. wait for the task to complete
13. Virtual Machine is created, below the resource pool.
